The country code of Turkey is 90 and a call to Turkey would have the following dialing format: Your Access Code + 90 + Area code + Subscriber's number. As an example, if you want to dial the number 502 15 01 in Istanbul, Your access code is; + 90 212 502 15 01. If you are in Turkey, the first thing you have to keep in mind that, all local numbers are 7 digits and all area codes are 3 digits. For local calls; if you are calling a subscriber having the same area code with you, then dial the 7-digit telephone number directly like 502 15 01.

As for long distance calls, meaning that calling a subscriber located in a place with a different area code, dial national access code 0, 3-digit area code followed by the 7-digit phone number, like; 0 212 502 15 01. In Turkey, operator assisted calls are executed by a special number 131 which will take you to Turk Telekom's (local Telco) operator. Register the desired telephone number and other details. Operator will place the call for you and will connect you to the desired number.

To make international calls from Turkey, you need to dial 00 + Country Code + Area Code + Telephone Number like 00 49 89 123456789. As for operator assisted international calls, you can reach Turk Telekom's international operator by dialing 115. Register the call details to operator. The operator will provide the connection for you. 00-800- Home Country Direct Calls can be made from any private or public telephone. There are also public phones in Turkey which you can use easily anywhere.
