Arrival at Istanbul; meet and greet then transfer to hotel.

Day 2: Istanbul (BLD)
A full-day sightseeing tour of the city featuring visits to the Roman Hippodrome, the Blue Mosque, the Topkapi Palace, the Basilica Cistern, St. Sophia and the Grand Bazaar.

Bursa Grand Mosque Interior

Day 3: Istanbul - Iznik - Bursa
Leave for Iznik, ancient Nicea, where the great Ecumenical Council met in 325 AD. See the St. Sophia, City Walls and some Ottoman monuments.
Continue to Bursa and see the Grand Mosque, the Silk Bazaar, the Green Mosque and the Grand Mausoleum.

Classical Turkish Village

Day 4: Bursa - Assos (BLD)
Visit a typical Turkish village with its Turkish bath and a school. Chance to sip traditional Turkish coffee or tea with locals in a village house.

 

 

Canakkale Assos Athena Temple

Day 5: Assos - Troy - Canakkale (BLD)
See the ruins of Assos, then the site of Alexander Troas and finally the legendary city of Troy, highlighted in Homer's Iliad.

Day 6: Gallipoli - Istanbul (BLD)
See the battlefields of the First World War then continue Istanbul.

Spice Market

Day 7: Istanbul (BLD)
A visit to the Spice Bazaar is followed by a Bosphorus Cruise. Afterwards, visit to Sadberk hanim Museum to view the rich collection of ethnography and archaeology. Farewell dinner.

Day 8: Istanbul (B)
Transfer to airport for homebound flight.
