ATHENS DISCOVERY
(5 Days - 4 Nights)

The program given below is the second phase of our combined tour for Athens. For the first phase of our tour, you can select any tour in Turkey mentioned in our Tours page such as Istanbul Discovery, The Hittites ad Phrygians, The Silk Road and Seljuks, Cappadocia, Turquoise Beauty, Magic Triangle etc...

Day 1: Athens

Meet upon your arrival at Athens Airport. Then transfer to your selected hotel. Overnight in Athens.

Day 2: Athens (B)

Acropolis

After breakfast, departure for full day city sightseeing. Morning visits to the Acropolis and the Museum, the Parliament, Pan Athenaic Stadium (where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896), the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the National Library. Then drive along the coastal road to Cape Sounion. Past the beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza to the southernmost point of Attica, Cape Sounion, where stand the white marble pillars of the Temple of Poseidon overlooking the Aegean Sea. Late afternoon return to your hotel in Athens for overnight.

Day 3: Athens (BL)

Nafplion

Leave by the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean Sea to the Ionian Sea (short stop). Drive on to Mycenae, the Homeric city of the Atreidae, the city "rich in gold" of the ancient poets. Visit the Lion Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, the Royal Tombs. Then depart for Nafplion through the fertile plain of Argolis, the picturesque town nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamidi for trees. After lunch leave for the Epidavros to visit the theatrefamous for its astonishing acoustics. Return to Athens by the National Road which connects Epidavros with Corinth. Overnight in Athens.

Day 4: Athens (B)

Today is at leisure to explore this exciting city. Overnight in Athens.

Day 5: Athens (B)

Transfer to Athens Airport for your departure flight.

Please note that the Acropolis and the Museum are closed on Tuesdays and are replaced by the Monastery of Kaissariani.
