THE CYCLAMEN AND WILD FLOWERS
(BULBOUS PLANTS) TOUR TO SOUTHERN TURKEY
(10 Days - 9 Nights
)

Day 1: Istanbul (D)

Our guide meets and greets you at the International Atatürk Airport. Transfer and check-in your hotel. Group welcome drink and dinner in the hotel.

Day 2: Adana (BLD)

Crocus adanensis

After the early breakfast we take a flight to Adana. We first visit Haruniye, Kurt Kalesi which is a very important botanic site in Turkey. From there we move to Düldül Mountain which is our last stop of the day.

Day 3: Silifke (BLD)

Drive to Mut, Alahan Monastery via Erdemli and Silifke. Cyclamen persicum and spring flowering bulbous plants can be seen along the way and around the monastery.

Day 4: Antalya (BLD)

Cyclamen trochopteranthum

Drive to Antalya via Anamur, Gazipaşa, Alanya and Manavgat. Visit to Termessos National Park for it's rich flora which includes 41 nationally endemic and rare species. On the way to Altınyaka from Kemer, we stop at our last stop of the day; Çitdibi Köyü for endemic Cyclamen trochopteranthum.

Day 5: Fethiye (BLD)

Drive to Fethiye via Korkuteli and Elmalı. Endemic Crocus baytopiorum and other spring flowering croucus species will be seen along the route.

Day 6: Fetihye (BLD)

Our only stop for today is Baba Mountain, which is an isolated coastal mountain situated at the westernmost end of the Taurus Mountains, containing 59 endemic plant species.


Day 7: Göcek (BLD)

From Fethiye we move to Göcek and stop around Çenger Köyü for Cyclamen trochopteranthum and Muscari macrocarpum populations. Our second stop is Dalyan; which is a very interesting place for Cyclamen trochopteranthum where they grow under Daphne gnioides and Quercus coccifera bushes at 10 meters above sea level. Dalyan is also one of the most important nesting areas for the globally endangered turtle kind Caretta Caretta. Our last stop is Köyceğiz Köyü which is of exceptional importance as the finest example of alluvial Oriental sweet gum on earth.

Day 8: Göcek (BLD)

We have two main stops for today. The first one is the limestones cliffs between Söğüt and Bayır villages on the Bozburun Peninsula; which includes nationally rare bulbous plants. Our last stop for the day is the Datça Peninsula which contains fine colonies of an endemic palm tree (Phoenix theophrasti).

Day 9: Göcek (BLD)


Our only stop for the day is Sındı Köyü which is near the Datça-Knidos road. Locally small, it stands of native Italian cypress (Cupressus sempervirens).

Day 10: Fly back home (B)

we transfer you to the International Atatürk Airport.
